• Jackson RX10D Randy Rhoads model

AMS is currently selling these guitars with a polkadot finish. Can anyone tell me anything about them? Good? Bad?
Also, the guitar has two humbuckers, but I don't see any toggle switch or control knobs. Are they just camoflauged with all the polkadots?

I can tell you for sure that it's not an import Charvel like the section that you originally posted this in...

The RX10D should be as good as any other axe in that series. I've never owned one though. Maybe Jeri will stop by and give an opinion. From what I remember she really liked hers, but I suspect that it could do with a better bridge pickup. =)

Yep, I'm a fan of my RX10D. Yes, there is a toggle switch. Some people like the DD pups..but an X2N sounds so MUCH better...Great bang for the buck. I suggest you move the strap pin to the mid-top edge of the neck plate, makes it hang much better.

i never knew it was available in polka dots - not on the spec sheets 05 or 06. i saw one on ebay in amber sunburst. its gorgeous. at £329 + postage as new, that can't be bad.

It's an AMS exclusive thats why it wasn't listed in the spec sheet.

BTW it lists the pickups as the Duncan Designed Distortion set 103b and 103n, but the picture looks like the Duncan Designed Detonator and a similar looking neck pickup with the Invader type pole pieces. Are those Duncan Designed pickups exclusive to this axe?

the RX10D comes with Duncan Designed humbuckers as standard. this is for both 2006 and the previous incarnation. if you get better pickups with yours, keep schtum or the retailer might try to charge more!

Very good guitar for the money!! I put a Duncan Dis. bridge and a Jazz/neck. Good to go...........And you DON'T have to move the strap button! Just buy a good leather strap.......

I humbly disagree. I used a 3" leather strap with mine, and it was just tugging on my shirt and hung off the front strap pin.

You don't HAVE to move it. But I find it much more comfortable to do so. To each their own.

If you do move the pin to the top screw on the neckplate, do you go and buy a slightly longer screw, or just use the regular neck plate screw? I've been meaning to move the strap pin on my KVX10.

I love that Combo DD bridge Jazz in the Neck. I have that combo on my 7 and I'm about to put it on another 6 string I have.

I don't move it to a top screw, I drill a new hole in between the top 2, like where the strap button is on the neck thrus. Like this:

That's weird, I dont have that problem at all. but if want to drill a hole in the neck plate, thats up to you........
