Nice. He just answered your question, and you call the guy a liar.

No, I said he's full of shit. Besides I wasn't talking about Sully.

Besides, I saw it with my own eyes. I think I can tell when something is lacquered or not.

Are you calling me a liar?

Don't get your panties in a bunch there fella ... I think there's a nicer way to address it than that ..I think that's what he is referring too

I just got back from L&M. It's still there, and still looks like it has a clear finish on it. I talked to the salesman, and he agrees that it definitely has a clear finish on it. I took a couple of pictures, and I will post them when I get home. You can see the build up next to the frets where the finish builds up.

Re: Bond Rhoads = lacquered fretboard???

The L&M Salesman is mistaken. We do not put any finish on the Kevin Bond fingerboards. They get sanded, polished, and then a light coat of oil is put on them and they are buffed again.

Looks like finish, but it's snot (mis-spelling intended!)

The obvious answer is that L&M did it themselves.

I think it's like Jack Napalm stated:

Re: Bond Rhoads = lacquered fretboard???

I have family in Canada (Kingston, Ont). Even they make jokes about stuff like this. They visited the US in 1984 and came to a club to see me play. Their driver's licenses did not have pictures at that time. They told the bouncer/doorman that it was too cold in Canada to develop film - which he believed and let them in!! So, I have to hand it to them for their creativity!!!

Okay, I give up. I apologize to you John for saying you are full of shit, but isn't there any possible way that one of these somehow got a clear finished board? I stand by what I see with my own eyes. The board is not flat, but is wavy. If it was just shiny, then it's very possible that it was just polished, but it's not. Well, like I said, I give up, I'm not going to argue about it anymore.

Here is a pic, but it certainly doesn't support my cause, because it doesn't even look shiny.

                            Where's the white flag smilie?
