Some Jackson Stars are made in the US. However, if they are sold in Japan and distributed through Chushin Gakki, they must have the "Stars" on the headstock.
The ones on the JS site that you are referring to were made for a Musical Instrument Fair (Japanese version of NAMM) that was held in Yokohama last November.

well most Jackson Stars are from like 700-1500 price range in US compared to a brand new USA thats around $2500

$2500?? That's an average price of an CS Jackson without the crazy graphic. You might want to drop our dealers an email for more pricing on US Select, they are not as expensive as you think.

So is there any price savings when buying a Jackson Star as opposed to it's American sold counterpart?

RandygG,
Click on the dealers link which is located at the top of the page. They will be able to give you a better idea of the pricing of a US made Jackson.
Once you get the pricing of a brand new US select from one our dealers, you will realize that the price of a US select ain't really that expensive compared to Jackson Star. Consider that you still have to pay 100-150 to have it shipped from Japan. On top of that, when you get a brand new US select, you get to have a vaild warranty and quality after services from our dealers.
OK!! How much are the dealers paying me for this?!
Another thing to consider is that the majority of JacksonStars models come only with a gig bag, and the hardshell cases are an extra $120-$150 at least. You WANT a hard case if it's being shipped from Japan.
The only reason I'd recommend going with a JacksonStars model over a USA Select is for a 24 fret Rhoads, an NASL, any model with a Kahler, or their Semi-Custom option which allows for certain specific changes to production models at a lower cost than a full-on Custom Shop order as well as the lower turn-around time on Custom and Semi-Custom orders. If you just wanted a standard Soloist or something, I'd go USA.

I reckon you are talking about $2500 canadian money right? And the 25% tax you mentioned applys to Jackson Star too since you are importing that from Japan.
Anyways, as mentioned, i'm sure one of the dealers here can work somthing out for you.
the 25% is for brand new guitars, I think the jackson stars on these websites are all used, so it would only be like 10% customs or so
Well, I am probably just going to save up and find a KE-1 somehow, and if there is a dealer who can find me one for a good price I will probably pay it
Special deals for JCF members on Jackson/Charvel, Suhr, Anderson, Nash, Splawn, Bogner, LSL, Ibanez, Diezel, Friedman, Bad Cat, 3rd Power, Dr. Z, ENGL and more. FREE SHIPPING! 0% FINANCING!
Actually, not ALL of the JS models that are displayed on the "In Stock" pages are used. Only the ones marked with a red circle with the letters 中古品 at the upper right corner above the photos of the guitars are used. The green circles with the letters 新品 denote new guitars, and the orange/yellow circles with the letters 特価品 denote special discounts.
Definitely shoot Matt an e-mail to get a more definite idea of actual pricing.
Hope this helps!
