I too am generally not a fan of gold hardware, but it looks classy on your black guitar.

4-5 months was just the period of time that you were suffering from GAS, right? As I recall, you placed your order in mid-January or so...

Quantum - It came packaged great, I was worried it would arrive damaged but it came spotless, even the cartboard box came in mint condition. Are you sure I ordered it mid-January? I don't remember, all I know is that it's home now. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]

Shreddermon - I COULD have gotten a RR1 but it didn't have the features I wanted or liked. For one, as Quantum mentioned, I wanted a two-octave guitar, second, to me front loaded RRs don't look good to me, third most RR1s are pretty standard, black with black hardware, etc... This one is a bit more wild. Last but not least, I really dont use neck pickups, I have a 85 in the neck on my DXMG that I very, very rarely use so I figured it would be a waste of electronics and would make everything simple.

mmmm I wished them to be not that lighter..
I checked the spec and it is Alder wings and Maple neck thru.so it is the same as RR1.
Maybe having only 1 hum makes it lighter?

With less routing, it should make the guitar heavier instead.

And congrats on the Jackson Star. A very good deal if you are not planning to resell them.

From what I've read in some threads about them, they use a lighter variety of maple and alder to build them, hence the lighter weight.
But that's just what i've read so not a 100% guarantee of correctness [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

lighter variety of maple eh... i'm actually curious if the different species of maple-ish trees have different wood densities.... that might even explain alot about maple srup.
