Where are you from? I have to say NZ's J/C selection is pretty crap

I'm in Hastings, so it's pretty sparse. Not even a Rockshop. As for Trade-Me, the only interesting J/C I ever saw was a trans blue flame maple Kelly signed by Megadeth (couldn't tell which four members, could only make out Mustaine's sig for sure in the photo - looked like the Friedman/Menza era though). Dual-rail 'buckers, but only a licensed floyd. Almost bought it, but I'm just not one for flame maple.

Cool, glad to finally meet a fellow Kiwi here! Yeah, I saw that Kelly. He wanted waaay too much money for it. And I hate autographs; they're just a pain to keep intact...

You're not missing much when it comes to music stores. The Rockshop/Musicwarehouse is just pathetic. Atrocious service, useless selection and over-inflated prices! Mind you, I did notice you can order a Select series Jackson through the Rockshop which is a surprise. But the prices (again) are ridiculous.

Here's my last TradeMe score...Rhoads Std. which is going to be a neat little project.

Man, that's a nice looking Rhoads.

My 2005 DXMG came a few days ago, and it's not half bad. It's completely gutted of electronics currently - I'm completely replacing them with USA parts, and putting some new pickups in (Lace Drop & Gain set - no, I'm not a drop tuner, so I'll explain that some other time :P). Turned out to be a hassle, because all the import parts are metric, and the USA parts I bought are imperial, so I need to find some new nuts, washers, etc, and re-drill the two pot holes. Joy.

You have good taste. Those Lace (drop and gain) pickups are supposed to be very nice! I'm thinking about going with a set myself.

Sorry to hear about the hassle. Make sure you post some pics of her!
