My guess is it was part of Randy's revised specifications and was kept to keep the original look.

I like inlays and binding, others hate them and want blank boards.

The debate over which looks better is old and getting older. It will never end. You can't please everyone with a production model.

That's what the Custom Shop is for. Pony up the cash for what YOU think is nice if it isn't available on a production model. [img]/images/graemlins/laugh.gif[/img]
