  • JT-580LP trem bar replacement

Is there any sort of aftermarket replacement for the trem arm on my Jackson trem? It's one of those insert-and-screw-on, but unless you tighten it to an insane degree, it'll come loose after a few dives.

I've had the same problem. I think it's just the nature of the beast. There's a bushing up under there that it's suppose to pivot on. It helps if you can get some lube up under there. That way you can tighten it tighter and still get some movement out of it. But it will probably still loosen up on it's own.

Think they're the same size as an OFR bar, maybe try one of those

        Perhaps one of these then.

          Perhaps one of <a href="http://www.stewmac.com/shop/Bridges,_tailpieces/Floyd_Rose_tremolos_and_parts/2/Floyd_Rose_Locking_Tremolo_and_Parts.html">thes e</a> then.

Yes, that's probably the best route to go, without going to a whole bridge replacement.

I had a JT580POS with a modded OFR bar in it (I actually still have the it...in a box somewhere), and the bar would barely budge once it was screwed in. I also had to use tremendous amounts of force when taking the bar off. A royal P.I.T.A... Btw, this was a dremel-modded OFR bar going into the original JT580 socket. Replacing both the socket and the bar would be the way to go, IMO.
