Re: Photos of DK2M

Perfect:

Non-Recessed Floyd
1 Humbucker
1 Volume Control

I would even take it with the last 2 options. Hopefully Jackson will do something like this. Jack.

You are correct, sir!

I would add to that list:
direct-mount pickup
reverse headstock
frets 21-24 scalloped
speed neck backshape
Red Ghost Flames finish option

Having said that, I still think the DK2M is close enough to perfect just the way it is! I am thinking of getting one and then swapping a Sustainiac in for the neck pickup, thus rendering it useful.

as much as i want a dk2m, i'm not gonna wait anymore. sorry to disappoint you all, but i'm sick of kicking at local retailers knowing full well the uk is always at the back of the queue and any eta i get is always bullshit. ordering from the usa imposes stupid import tax. if it suddenly materialises in a shop window, i'll buy it if i can afford it.

You know what's funny. These are made in Japan, then shipped here, then they are going to tax someone to buy it in another country from America... This guitar has done a world tour already! :P

Re: Photos of DK2M

Look at it this way: AMS sells it to you fror $599; import tax is what, 25%? Now it's $750. Shipping say $150, AMS would probably do it for that or less. Now it's $900.

Since these guitars usually go for 50% more in the UK and Europe than here in the USA, $900 would probably be your price from a local shop, plus whatever your sales tax is.
It'd be cheaper and quicker to order from an American dealer than you're gonna get it locally, if you ever COULD get it locally. Because if one does come in, while you're mulling it over, someone will snap it up.

If you want one, order it from the US. Email Matt at Matt's Music to see if he can get you one, and for how much?
Of course be ready to spend in the ballpark I just discussed, don't waste his time tirekicking; but you can get one if you really want it.

I saw one of these hanging on the wall in a store in the UK at the weekend, the price tag was £400 which I find absolutely stunning.

Needles to say I left it on the wall in case I found I was walking out the door with it a couple of riffs/minutes later with another load place don my credit card - lol!

I don't like all the crap you hear about this stuff. One person says they are here, another says they are there. One time it's this, another time, it's that. Why can't someone say "they are here, or they will be here at XXX" and it be the right time and place? Why is there always this "it's delayed, it's a new model"? I just don't understand it.
