I've always known MOTO=Mother of Toilet Seat, but what exactly does THAT mean? I've never seen a toilet seat made of imitation pearl. Is that a play on words meaning mother of toilet seat is one step away from the crap in the toilet bowl?

I'd say it has more to do with the material that's used. Plastic.
Ive seen pearl plastic toilet seats. My grandmother had one in her old NYC apartment. That was in the 70's. Dont ask me why I remember that, I just do.
Im tellin ya. Back in the 70's they used to make toilet seats that were a pearly plastic. I think it was supposed to look fancy. Im sure someone saw moto and said that it looked more like mother of toilet seat than mother of pearl and the phrase just caught on.
WTF does MOTO stand for anyway? Sorry for the stupid question.
I kinda searched around. MOTO stands for the Dremel MOTO tool. In other words, an area is Moto'ed out and then inlaid with whatever. MOP, Mother of Pearl or Mother of toiletseat, plastic. Who knows? I could be right.
