The XL's have real MOP and Schaller trems, I'd pick one of those over a 2005 import

I would want a Jackson with double Hums. instead of Hum/Single/Single but can the Hum/Sin/Sin compare, what are the sound differences.

A 2 hum guitar is a great all around platform. You can coil tap each hum and get some real nice single coil sounds.

Yep, 2 hums is probably the most versatile arrangement. If you want a neck-thru, you can find a nice model 5 in the $400 range. (that is if you're not dead set on sharkfin inlays). I think that would definitely be the most bang for your buck.

With the older DK-2 you could eventually replace the neck pickup with a single-sized humbucker which would give you an H/S/H configuration...just a thought.

I found my 2 choices out of Jacksons that I want. They are brand new and anyone who has played both or just one I would love your input. The two choices are the DK2M and the DXMG. Both will end up being equiped with EMG 81's.thanx

Played them both DK 2M would be my choice because this is the first year for them and they play great.

hello- I'll second the Jackson Pro advise. I recently got a
92 0r 93 Jackson Fusion XL and love it. The Shaller bridge plate needed replacing- the intonation holes were stripped, something to ask about if you are looking at any of the Pro line. But this guitar plays great. I also have a DKMG that I paid twice the money for new, without a case, and it's no better.

hello again- just saw your post about deciding on DXMG or DK2M. Never played a DK2M, but they look really cool. As for the DXMG, it's very similar to the DKMG that I bought, DKMG has different inlays and a carved top. I did what you did and replaced the HZ's with 81/85 and it's a great improvement, but it's silly expensive. You can now get the DKMG stock with the 81/85, but still no sharkys. If I had to do it again I'd get something with the actives already in it or look on ebay for a used one that someones already spent the money to upgrade the pickups.

Get the DK2M then. I have played it, and it really liked it a ton. The maple neck is really nice, and the frets are bound really well. The pickups are high quality, and the finish is great.

Man I like this guy. He wants to try everything and make his own mind up and that is a good thing. So many people are like sheep and end up buying what someone tells them to.Kudos man!
