1. 24 fret Rhoads in the Pro series. You're missing out big time here! Not everybody can afford to go custom shop, and NOBODY wants the hassle to order a Jackson Stars from Japan (some are so in despair that they do it anyways... *hint hint*)
2. String-thru KV, KE, WR in the Pro or MG series.
3. That said, any KV at all would be a plus in the Pro and MG series.
4. BINDING!!! To this day I cannot understand at all why MG series models and the low-priced DK2 models get binding, but the expensive neck-thru models do not! The RR5 looks as cheap as a RX10D from the front when it hangs on the wall of a music store.
5. Lose the JB, give different SD pickup models a chance... Custom on standard shapes, Distortion on radical shapes maybe?
Looking at points 1, 4 and 5 I realise that all I'm suggesting already exists in the Jackson Stars line. Look there for inspiration, they do great stuff!
And to address again the issue of the different series:
I think it would be a good idea to make clear separations:
Pro series: all neckthru (except DK2 because, well, it's a Dinky!), binding, SD pickups, OFRs, and if possible: MOP inlays
MG series: all bolt-on (except SLSMG because, well, it's a Soloist!), binding, EMG pickups
Artist series: just as they are now, everything is possible, the closer to the original the better.
X series: bolt-on, MOTO inlays, no binding, Duncan Designed pickups, licensed trems... just as they are now.
JS series: just as they are now, perfect in price and selection IMO (and quality too!).
That's it for now, thanks for asking us!Last edited by shadowcat; 08-15-2006, 12:35 PM.

I would give my right nut for one or more of the following:
KVMG - Alder body, reverse headstock, 24 frets, Floyded (black hw), bound neck&hs King V.
KV3/4 - Alder body, whatever headstock, 24 frets, Floyded, bound neck&hs King V.
WR5 - reverse headstock, neckthru, slanted fretboard end, black hw, bound neck&hs.
Actually.. anything that resembles a King V in decent import quality, with the features already introduced on the rest of the line, and preferably a reverse headstock. I'd kill for one of those things.
Oh yeah. Some DiMarzio pickups maybe.. like, the X2N and a Super 2 on the "extreme" shapes.Last edited by Baum83; 08-15-2006, 12:21 PM.

I'll address some color issues. Seriously, something needs done to the import eerie dess swirl. I'm not saying it should look like the USA paint job, because that is just too dark. But, something needs changed. A simple reverse of the colors might work, placing the purple in the middle and green to the outside. Or, how about an import version of holoflake? A new import graphic would be cool as well.
And, since the PC1 has a licensed headstock now, is there any chance of reviving the PC3 with a licensed headstock? And, this time you should put a sustainiac or cheaper sustainer in it and an OFR. And, instead of quilt tops, solid colors could be offered or some unique import graphics.

add a new import (jap) series called the Hot Rod series.
Hot Rod Series should be:
($400-$600)
a single hum Dinky (alder)
seymour duncan Distortion (TB-6) (black with black bezel only)
Recessed OFR (black only)
bolt on 24 fret maple neck w/ black sharkfins and black binding. (similar to dk2m but slightly thicker backshape.)
black hardware only
and only availibe in slime green, neon (or budman) pink, road hazard orange, electric blue, road hazard yellow, and vivid white!
i think these would sell like hotcakes! and no other guitar company is doing anything like this. they all think "flashy" guitars are the thing of the past. well they are not! Jackson was all about the "flashy" guitar played by the "Heavy Metal Shredder" back in the day and was what the company was known for. i want yall to bring it back and i think this line would do it! just look at the praises and the "i want one like that" replies to JCF members projects like Budman and mm2002, when the refinish their guitars in similar colors. and nothing says "shredder" like a 1 hum pointy strat with a flashy paint job!Last edited by Dreamland_Rebel; 08-15-2006, 03:44 PM.

Hehe...my point is I like to wrist pick fast passages and when my hand gets down by the b and high e strings my pinky runs into the volume knob. I don't use the volume for swells so it's useless for me to have it so close as it cramps my freedom of movement. It's not like I run into it when I'm playing rhythm, bluesy lines or legato/tapping stuff...just when I speed-pick. I can and do get around it by lifting my pinky and ring fingers to clear the vol knob but I'd rather just have it further down.
Paul also likes his volume knob down out of the way...just take a look at his sig models. BTW, Jackson actually did place the vol knob lower on at least one of the old "performer" series guitars from the 90's.Last edited by wicked_lester; 08-15-2006, 05:07 PM.------------------------------------------------
