  • My "new" Jackson Stars RR

    Hey!

Recently got my RR I ordered August 4th. The guitar arrived at my local post office here in Sweden the 10th I believe. Pretty quick!

The guitar is an RR1100J and has Schaller floyd rose, neck-trough, binding, rosewood fingerboard, pearloid inlays and the most important: 24 frets!!!! The color is DMB, Dark Metallic Blue. I was told that it was a shop worn item and had some dents and scratch and I did so expect dents and scratches but when I picked up the guitar it looked completely new. Wierd.

I payed a total of 4100 sek (incl which is like 560 dollars (1 dollar = 7 sek) Which is pretty good I think. An RR5 cost like 1400 dollars here in Sweden and the only things thats worse on the RR1100J compared with an RR5 are the pickups.

    Here's some pics

    And some posing

Well that's about everything I guess. I'm very pleased with it

Ah, wtf, my friends webserver is fucking with me again. I'm sure they will be visible in 10 mins or so.

Edit: They should be working now.

Ahh, pics are working now. Looks very nice! Too bad it doesn't atleast have real MOP inlays.

How does it play? Can you compare it to some other Jacksons? How do those pickups sound? Are they better then duncan designed or those CVR2 or whatever they are found in JS30 series guitars?

                Really? What the fuck...

I can't really tell you yet. I play in D (Yes, I suck Alexis cock) with the original 009-strings which suck (011-049 ftw. Again I suck Alexis cock) and I haven't set it up either so right now it's... good, but it can be better. Far better then my Epiphone Les Paul and Ibanez RG320 I had before.

                They truly are killer guitars!

$560 US for a neck-through 24-fret Rhoads with a Schaller floyd is a great deal, at least by my standards.

I want one of the J.S. bloody warrior neck-thrus baaaaad.

Really nice guitar, congrats on the deal!
The 24 frets and the binding are a great touch... that's exactly what is missing on the normal imports like the RR5!

I also have a Jackson Stars Rhoads on order, but it's a semicustom based on the RR-J1B model, and will take a while to be completed. I think it's in the building process now, because a few days ago my dealer forwarded a question about the finish from the Jackson Stars personnel to me.

Congrats! DMB is one of my favorite colors.

                        Thanks!

I agree with you shadowcat. Jackson's pretty stupid not to offer 24 fret Rhoads guitars in the Pro series. Yes, I saw your thread. Pretty cool I want a J2SP (I'm still jealous at Nazgul!) with reverse sharkfins and MOP-logo.

Nazgul: I can't really tell because I play on a Rage 158 15w :P But well, compared to the other guitars I've played on it it's pretty... well... not special at all so to say. Decent.

J2SP doesn't have reverse sharkfins and MOP logo. Jackson Stars J1 series has the MOP logo .
