    Nice score!

The PC3 is alot lighter than a PC1... almost half the weight.
The neck back shape is also very different. Much thinner than a PC1.

Yours looks just like my PC3 did before I put a PC1 neck on it.
    Before... (pretty much stock)

After... with a PC1 neck and a few other mods.

I put a DiMarzio Super 3 and an HS-2 in the middle (just like a PC1) and I'm still looking for a sustainer to put in it.
    It's my back-up for my PC1.

Yep. That's about it. I do feel that new pickups are in order in the near future.

The guitar plays and sounds great, though. Almost too great.

I wonder why it weighs so much less than my PC1? I mean I can understand it being close, but this is silly light.

PC1 has a 1/8" thick maple top... PC3 top is a paper thin vaneer.
PC3 has plastic cover plates instead of metal.
No battery box with two 9v batteries in a PC3.
No OFR... OFR weighs a more than the JT580LP.
These are just a few things that would make a difference in weight.

        It all adds up.

Well when you have it all laid out like that..

I was thinking that the Sustainer assembly was adding a lot of weight to it. But I didn't think about all the other factors as well.

I'm really surprised at the maple top. Man that's a huge difference.

The sustainer install actualy makes the body a bit lighter.
The amount of wood removed from the electronics cavity weighs more than the added circuit board for the sustainer. But when you factor in all the other stuff, it more than makes up for removed wood.

i wonder if jackson would consider giving this quilted fretboard a go on today's imports (Pro and MG).. cuz that is just sweet!

All right. After a trip to the store for new batteries for the camera, here are the pics of the PC3!

                  Here's the whole body:

                  Here's just the body:

                  And the neck:

I am more and more impressed with this guitar the more I play it.

Now any suggestions for replacing the pickups? The ones on it are not bad, but I think it could sound a little better. No issues at all with playability. This thing is amazing!
