haha yeah its true. and so is the part about naz saving his lunch money LOL its a good plan though. have your parents buy you a guitar without them knowing it.
I realize this was all from last Sept. but dude the guitar is awesome! I am trying to get in contact with who I believe at the same people you got yours from to do an order.
Trust me, that small little defect on the fret you showed in one picture is nothing, I have one of the 1992 LTD Tribute Rhoads and there's all sort of mistakes they made on the fret board.
You have officially made up my mind on buying a Jackson Star. How does the Mahogany sound compared to Alder? I don't think I have ever heard a Rhoads made of Mahogany (though I have seem custom shop ones)
You have any demos online with you playing that one?
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil
Thank you all for the compliments!
The good news is, the honeymoon is over, but I'm still totally in love with the guitar. Sometimes I still catch myself just looking at it in awe...
The camera was a Caplio R2.
Only gets sharp fotos when using the flash. But the macro mode is awesome!

Probably a little warmer with less prominent mids. But since the neck is still maple it doesn't make a world of difference, I believe.
My buddy's alder Rhoads Pro sounds great as well, and also has a full sound with good lows.
Here is a link to wood descriptions, maybe it helps:

I'm sorry but that's the best I can do for you right now. In the dual leadparts, listen for the second guitar coming in, that's me.
It's my mahogany/maple Jackson Stars Rhoads vs. my buddy's alder/maple Rhoads Pro.
But it's also ENGL Fireball vs. ENGL Blackmore, and Boss GT5 in 4cable method vs. GT5 direct.
And Duncan Custom vs. Duncan Distortion.
So basically, the differences you'll hear don't mean shit.
Last week I also used the Rhoads for recording a solo on my other band's debut album. But it'll be awhile until it is finished...
Kickin ass!! Too bad we don't see it much in the video =(

The truth will seem utterly preposterous, and its speaker, a raving lunatic."
