  • What year did jackson start using compound radius fingerboards?

I prefer the flat fingerboards all along the neck length so what year did the newer compound radius start on the DK2's?
If it's not a CHARVEL then i dont want to play it,look at it or even fuckin THINK about it!

the compound radius on DK2s is a "newer" thing? They were advertising compound radius boards on the old Model series Charvels. I didn't think they'd ever changed back to a flat fretboard.

I have no idea. Everything I've found with a quick search of the net refers to the DXMG having a compound radius too.

You flattened it with your insane shredding?

honestly the compound boards look uniformly flat, but i think a 14-16 inch radius difference isnt really that noticeable (like on my RR3 and DX10). however, a 12-16 would be more noticeable. however, i think jackson has been using compound radius boards since the 80's...i may be wrong though LOL

Jackson and Charvel use a 10"- 16" radius, don't they?

                Model series was 12 - 16

I assume that didn't change on the subsequent MIJs

                    Ah, it is 12- 16. I don't know why I was thinking 10.

My RX10D has a non-compound radius. I remember looking at the specs before buying it and RX10D had a non-compound and RR3 had a compound radius. RX10D has a compound radius since 2006.

really? i thought the X series had compound boards already...i know the earlier DX10's do, at least since 2004...i need to look at my buddy's Indian DX10 to see if it has one...it might not, but im pretty sure the MIJ X series guitars have it.

i think ill go look at JacksonFreak's page at the scanned catalogs and look...

edit...i looked up to 2002, and really couldnt find any info on neck radii, or anything. and im on dialup so i got sick of waiting for pages to load LMAO!
