why wont jackson make a mg series v or rhoads. or a pro series king v...i dont know why the best v i can buy for under 2 grand is an x series. in my opinion the v is the best shape jackson makes so why is it the least produced? does anyone think they might add some more v models for winter namm 07?

I agree with you. The MG series definitely needs more pointies, and the KV is very much under-represented. It's strange that the Pro-series KVs disappeared even before Dave Mustaine went over to ESP - but I'm guessing that they were replaced by the import version of the Y2KV roundhorn V, which was then discontinued when Dave left.
Only a few years ago, the Pro-series used to have the KV-3, that had specs similar to the RR-3 (Bolt-on neck, Floyd, Duncan Designed pups). You could keep an eye open for them on eBay. Way back in the 90's there was also the 22-fret KV Pro, and the Dave Mustaine signature KV Pro (neck-through, 24 frets, Kahler 3310 fixed bridge, etc.). Those are harder to find, but they do surface on occation. But those also cost a lot more, due to the more expensive features and their scarcity.

forgive me if it sounds like i'm hijacking this thread, but jackson, like any other manufacturer, will only produce models and spec to a budget, for a majority, not a niche. imho, the original pro series (of which a lot of the models were neckthru and had decent quality trems) should have been retained. the purpose behind restricting the current imports is to entice people to go custom anyway. the alternative is to buy parts and stick them together to produce what they want, and repaint as desired.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

Where are you getting $1999 and up? That's the MAP price all dealers have to list at. Call a dealer and you'll get a better price. Don't go through MF or GC, because they'll sell it to you at the MAP price.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.

It's definitely an issue, and it's also been posted in the "wishlist"-thread in the Ask Jackson!-forum several times - I, for one, hope they look into it, because there is a huge gap. Even if you can get an USA select model for like 1250$ in the US, it's still not exactly a steal for a V. A decent King V WILL be a good addition to the line, seeing as Jackson is still most popular in the metal market...
