Why is the new x series made out of basswood?

yea...to make them truly the "lower line" jacksons. just look on Ebay if you want an older model X Series with an Alder body. also, i think up until July they made them with Alder this year. after that its all basswood. why, Jackson, why?!?!?! now if i want a new Dinky i HAVE to get at least a DK2M

why? Most of the old Model series Charvels are basswood and they are universally heralded around the JCF as being excellent guitars, particularly for what you pay for them.Hail yesterdayComment

Basswood doesn't have a bad tone, it's just a softer wood. I had a basswood body on my bass and it was just proned to dimples and dents. I actually think it sounded better than the poplar body I have on it now.Transitioning from Retired Musician from cover bands to a Full time vocalist/frontman/guitarist in an original and covers band....it's been a while and this should get NASTY!
