  • 2 serials....

I did not found any topic including a list of S/N Imports, so I got this question.
I'd like to identify 2 guitars.
One is a Jackson Kelly. I suppose it's an old one.
It has 2 HH Duncan Designed PUs, bolt on neck and a JT580 bridge.
    It's SN# (on neck plate) is: 9677054
It looks exactly like this one

The other one is a very strange model which I can't identify.
I've seen 3 guitars like this on sell in the last 2 weeks....this one should be a Japan made. Dunno the model, just the serial and some pics.
    Body and head
    It's SN# (on neck-plate) is: 914573

Other pics of another one identical guitar

hope somebody will help me to clarify this 2nd guitar

    bye

I'd take a wild guess that the pups aren't original on the Kelly. Didn't Duncan Designed just come out like 3-4 years ago?

No, they go back way longer than that. The RR3 had them as early as 1997.

I had an old ST-series Kramer in the early 90's that had a humbucker that read "Designed by Seymour-Duncan" if I recall correctly. I'm thinking that may have been a precursor to the DD pickups.

Going back to topic, if the thing looks like a KE3, then it may just be a KE3.
Both serials indicate japanese make. Production time is hard to determine from the serial.
To be sure, you need to take the neck off and look in the neck pocket/heel.

Did a little digging in the catalogs and it looks like a Charvel 275 Deluxe body with a Jackson Professional neck... parts mutt.

Do you have the guitar on hand? Then take the neck off like I suggested and have a look. Just don't overtighten the screws when you put it back together... =P

I found this should be the guitar, with a jackson neck on it and the bridge cavity modified to hold a real humbucker, not 2 singles.
                          Charvel's catalog 90-91
