  • King V Pro vs USA KV2 neck profile

I've got a general question for those in the know. I've heard several people talk about the thin KV2 neck profile, and am curious how close my King V Pro is to that. Do they compare at all or is my import thicker/thinner?

Warning: Answering "KV2 is thinner" to this question is going to cause serious GAS. Feel free to openly lie to me

Since those are my 2 main players, (my KV2 and KVPro go to every show with me) I can tell you that the difference is minimal at most. The main difference I can tell is the upper fret access seeming to be just a bit better. Both guitars are awesome. I believe this to be why the KVPro has steadily increased in value since I bought mine a few years ago for less than $600! Couldn't find one in that range if you stole it from a blind man these days!

That's crazy huh? I got my King V Pro for $650 back in 1999 or 2000... somewhere around that time. I have yet to see another for the same price. I'm glad to hear their necks are similar because I have to say I absolutely love the neck on my V. It's by far the best playing axe I own... moreso than my main Kramer American players.

      Thanks for the feedback bro!

I have seen Pro's go for as much as $1400 for a super minty black one. I sold a black one that was in excellent condition to a JCF bro for $950 not so long ago. For $600 these days, you MIGHT be lucky enough to get a KV4.

Speaking of the KV4, there's one that's been on eBay on and off for some time and the dude wants a bunch of $$$ for it. Pretty guitar, but I'm not sure its worth the price he wants. I've never played one so am hesistant to pay the cash he wants for it and then get it and be dissapointed.

Amazing how the prices go though huh? I thought I got a great deal back then, and now I know I did

          Thanks again guys!

The KV4 has been getting pricey lately too.

A good argument for Jackson to release a new import neckthrough KV --- KV4 (KV5?) and/or a KVMG.

I'd be interested. The lower line KVs I am not a fan of really (i.e., the KVX10). They're not bad for the money, but having the Pro ruined me for all others LOL. I'm in bad shape I tells ya! :ROTF:

Make that neck-thru and string-thru, and I wouldn't care how they call it... I'd buy it!

... if it has a pointy head.

Preach on brotha! I know some of you might disagree, but I never cared for the Y2KV... not pointy enough for me LOL. I love the Jackson headstock, and when they went to the Gibson-style head for that one I didn't care much for it.

hey anybody intrested in trading a king v kv2 (black/floyd) for a rhoads rr1 professional (black/schaller) excellent shape , just would rather have the king v shape, but not these lower lines that are out now, it's got to be comparable to the guitar i have now, which is killer. if any one is intrested, let me know. i can provide pictures with all the angles!
