If it came from the factory that way, it should have probably been sold as a 2nd, at a reduced price. Whether it bothered me or not would be directly related to the price I paid for it. Also, as mentioned above, that would be super simple to fix. It would still be noticable, but you'd really have to look close to see it.
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.

Exactly it doesn't affect the way it plays at all but it's an eyesore. I'm gonna email Matt this morning and I'll let you guys know what he says.

Your guitar, your call. I would contact the seller and see if they know anything about it and if possible I'd try and get some money off. I'd keep the guitar and get it fixed up myself.
If it happened in transport then you might be able to tell from the box/case it came in

That looks like it would indeed bother me... and I'm actually not that picky, but this one is just too visible.

+1. I wouldn't care about some dings on the body or something, but I want my fretboard clean.

That's what you get for buying a guitar with a plastic fretboard.

id contact the dealer and even if I was going to keep it id try and get a discount because even if it doesnt bother you it would be unfair to pay top price for a graded product..

Contact the seller bro. I wouldn't wanna live with it. Yes, it's small, but you most likely paid good money for it so you need to go with your gut on this Looks like an otherwise nice slab of ebony though.

Yeah, that's the smoothest looking piece of ebony I've seen in a while. And that's why the ding looks even more prominent in my opinion.

Then again, it may just be the picture smoothing it out..

If you had to mention it to us then it bothers you. I wouldn't accept that then.
