    Thanks

They were made in Japan - h/s dinky, direct mounted humbucker, rosewood board with reverse inlays and headstock, floyd, blue / green motled / tie dye type finish. There is one on yahoo japan at the moment....

That's pure class! What a beauty! I especially loved the "Made to be played with soul" motto on the backplate - awesome guitar!

Probably because of the neck swap. The neck is one of the selling points - reverse headstock/sharks and it's scalloped from the 12th fret up.

I've discussed that with Joe before. He often has a few of his collection up on ebay, and if it sells it sells. Otherwise, he'll hang onto it until it does. Notice all the BINs in his store? No low starting bids. You pay what he asks for it, or he's happy to hold onto it.

                  Wow,

Thanks everybody, I knew it was a good idea to join this forum

Mahogany body and maple neck is a favourite combination of mine (can I mention Kramer Nightswan's on this board?). I love the woody tonen of mahogany, but it's a horrible neck wood, especially if you beat the crap out of your guitar live I've got a Charvel Model A+K which is amazing and has a beautiful and stable bird's eye neck.

I'm not sure I'll ever encounter a real Jackson DA during my life but I'll keep my eyes open.

                  Thanks for soo much info.

Big bump! I just found this guitar on ebay and I think it really looks killer. Is it a good deal though? Those blems are kinda significant but I really like the paint job and I think the DK1 neck is an impovement, personally. To me, it seems like this is a more unique instrument with more "character" than the SL2H that I recently returned (if you payed attention to that dilemma) for less than half the price, and probably feels just as nice with that neck on it. If I've just convinced you to buy it, please don't! This will only be my second jackson, let me catch up! If you don't think it's a good deal ...well that's what I'm asking.

edit: I'm talking about this one, mentioned before: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...4020&rd=1&rd=1

and after reading my own post, I decided that I am a moron. it's a personal decision. damn.

but is it worth it? It's too late to buy anything tonight, but I'm leaning towards yes...
