  • Behold! My new DK2M! :D Lots Of Pics :)

So... I was in GC looking around as always and I see this DK2M:

    Now, ordinarily this wouldn't be a biggie as it's not white and it's like the 10th DK2M I've seen/played:

HOWEVER, when I looked at it from the side I saw this!

    and this!

So I picked it up Thursday. Whole lotta guitar for the money. Now to switch pickups and put a 5-way or coil taps

Wow, you scored big time. I don't normally get into solid red guitars too much, but for some reason, I really like it on the DK2M.
And then, on top of that, you got a KILLER flame maple neck!!!
That is drop dead gorgeous. What kind of pickups are you going with (and color)?

Might I suggest an rsguitarworks pot upgrade kit? You already have great pickups in there so get a kit and open those Duncans and let them breathe.
Love that neck you got a nice one.
      Really? well screw Mark Twain.

I'm just not a big fan of JB's (except for a 4 conductor model's split tone). I love '59 pup's but, I'm not sure if it'll go well with what I'm going to put in.

Probably going black. Thinking about Evolution Neck and Custom Custom Bridge or Tom Anderson pups. Haven't decided yet. I want them to be able to split though... that's why I probably won't keep the stockers.

The Duncans are 4 contuctor wire you can split them.I don't care for the JB much myself but when you have quality electronics the JB sings quite nicely I had one in a 2 hum USA Jackson(bolt on) I put the JB in the neck and the DD in the bridge and a RS kit and was quite shocked how good the JB was in the neck.I had a JB and a 59 in a L.P.studio + an rs kit and it was very nice so don't count the JB as a lost cause.Good electronics makes a hugh difference in your tone.Read my post in the import Charvel section I just installed a kit in my 1A(three singles) and it kicks ass.
Ask DarylV if he likes the rs kits. He has bought several off me.

That's awesome! Back of the neck looks great! My RX10D has the same thing:

(fucking hard to get in the picture)

That's the only thing that will make it hard for me to sell it.

I saw and played that exact guitar at GC. After a few minutes of playing it, I considered bringing it home. It's a fine guitar and sounds great. It plays very nice. In my opnion, I think it's fine the way it is.

My GC has a few of them, this one in red and they also have it in white with the maple fretboard. Man I should buy em both. Great price great guitars nice score man.

That's awesome!....especially on a DK2M neck. I have a Fusion Pro with flames like that and a DK2 that has a very faint flame to it but, not nearly as pronounced as your's or my Fusion. I wish it was more common.

Very nice, Ivan! I had a mid '90s candy apple green Dinky Reverse that had some amazing flame on the back of the neck, too.

I had a model 2 once that had a ton of birdseye on the neck.

You sure the DK2M's SD's are 4 conductor? The ones that come in SL2H's aren't (or at least they weren't before) so why would the DK2M have 4 conductor instead? What exactly is an RS kit? Thanks!
