Actually I'm not so sure the entire JS line is made in India. The serials of some guitars indicate otherwise.

Ask for the serial number that would help alot.

My old mid-90s JS1 was built in either Taiwan or Indonesia.

Some JS30s were MIJ. I mean the Dinky model JS30, not the JS30 "shape" series such as the JS30RR and etc. - those were always MII.

Get us a serial # like Rich said -- that will tell us.

Right. That ser# is from late 2003, MIJ.

JS is bottom of the barrel either way. If you're a beginner, its a much better guitar than I (and most others) started with, but otherwise, its a waste of money that could be better spent on a DK2 or DKMG. I'm sure some will disagree with me (sentimentality), but a few $ more will get you a much better guitar, including real Duncans or EMGs.

Well I loved my JS-30 the body was basswood the neck was just like a model series neck, reversed headstock. The black paint was perfect, the jackson CVR pickups sounded pretty good. The trem was not the best but did a decent job.I did put in a set of Duncans later on.

I'm actually not so sure. Remember the pics of the JS35 Euro runs? Some of those had 9xxxxxx serials. So they were either MIJ, or Jackson have started fukkin' up the serials completely.
