I liked the made in Japan performers I played.. Looking at the 12th doth placement I don't think yours is made in Japan though.. but for 100$ you can't lose right

Nice score. I had a 97 PS-2 that was MIJ. Same fret marker spacing at the 12th fret.
Easy enough to find out though... what's the first digit in the serial?
9 = MIJ
0 or 1 = Korea or India-RickComment

I bought an MIJ PS2 on UK eBay and complained a bit because it had a crack between fretboard & nut, but apart from that the guitar is simply brilliant & it now gets played more than my $xxxx vintage Gibson’s & US Fenders. Not only does it play great with great action, solid trem & no issues anywhere on the neck, but it’s even beautifully made. I’m now looking for a US or MIJ set-neck/neck-through Jackson or Charvel…but if it’s anywhere near as good as the cheap PS2 then I’ll be delighted.
