I just picked up a 2006 parker fly deluxe for $1,000 out the door from guitar center. It was used, but it looked new, and is flawless. The guitar usually sells for $2500

        good score on the kelly!

I picked up two very cheap guitars this year, both from the same Guitar Center. First was a brand new 2004 Jackson RR3. It was on sale there for I believe $599.00. Never thought much about it because of the price. It soon went on clearance for $299.00 and I bought it. The only issues were a missing string retainer on the locking nut and a small chip on the long wing.

The second was a 1990 Charvel Model 375, in great condition, I got for $139.00. It was there for awhile with a $299.00 price tag on it and right before the Christmas season, they cleared out all the stuff they couldn't sell and I scooped it up.
          Guitars:
Charvel: USA Pro Mod Slime Green
          1988 Model 2,
          Jackson: Dinky HSS 'Blue/Orange Flame'
          RR3
Gibson: 1978 Les Paul Spl Dbl Cut
          1992 LP Studio 'Lite'
          2005 SG Special

US Peavey for $52. I've seen the kahler spyders it has go for just as much. It's like free body, neck, pickups, and gotoh tuners.

She is pretty cool about it now, but she spent Xmas telling the story of how I came home with a butt-ugly guitar to anyone that would listen. And that I need to spend more money replacing the pups. I'm willing to take the abuse to get the Kelly. She would do the same thing when I was building my bike.
"... and is there anyone out there who can sing music beyond either the Dead/Phish/jam band of the week

                or

obscure B-side GreatWhiteLionSnake demos recorded in the basement of some guy who was the girlfriend's second cousin's in-law's best man?

I swear to God, if we audition another American Idol wannabee or have another no show, I'll turn postal. I'm a donkey on the frickin' edge."

i think most of the kramers on music yo are going for steal like prices- its pretty ridiculas for high quality imports. The US series isnt too bad either...

I think today I had the ultimate "steal" of a guitar. It is a Jackson JS-1. Yeah I know, cheap p.o.s. guitar, but for the price I got it, I have to say that I did almost steal it. It was at a Sam Ash, this afternoon. It is a Blue metallic JS-1 that I got for $29!!! I first thought that the price was for the stand that the guitar was sitting on, but that was the guitar price! The body is just about in mint condition but the neck is all screwed up. A small chunk of wood is missing by the edge of the neck by about the 16th fret. Actually, the wood was missing under about the first 1/4 inch of the fret and it was just sticking out into nothing, but everything else was pretty much intact. Crap....the parts alone on it, (body, pickups, tuning pegs, bridge, etc...) is worth more than the $29 bucks!!!

I know I'll be able to make something cool out it.

haha...I don't know why but this made me laugh...I would have bought it just because it was 29 bucks...

Oh and my own "i practically stole it" story...

I got a 2006 dxmg for $250 on craigslist in perfect condition..it was brand new! it still had the little plastic covers on the tuners, the truss rod cover, and the pups...plays like a dream...so happy i jumped on it.
