Hi, I am doing a little project with my old kelley performer guitar. I am painting it, and I want to replace the neck with a nicer sharkfin inlay, and bound jackson neck. Whare can I find one of these?
Thanks
yep dk-2 neck is the winner. To bad the only one on ebay has a blue headstock. I am going to paint the kelly white w/black bevels, it will have a black floyd, one volume knob, and one EMG at the bridge. A dk-2 neck would def. set if off nicley.
strip the paint off the headstock and put the colour on that you want.
Sometimes it is not necessary to strip paint off the body or headstock, unless it is quite bad, simply scuff up surface with scotchbrite pad to key the surface ready to undercoat first!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That's my tip of the day, why give yourself more work to do, the base if good is a good enough surface to work on.
Or get the DK2M neck. Maple would look great on the white body, and wouldn't look like someone else's Kelly coughMartycough
That sounds like a great idea.
I was lucky enough to have a bro on this forum tell me of someone who was offering a DK1 neck. That is how my black Kelly is currently set up. I love the blacked out look of it.
