i'm going with jackson 1..... birdseye on a import jackson...... even if the plate it black, and the hardware is chrome, it probably is the right plate

Every now and then you will see light birdseye on an import neck not common tho'

The only way that would be the right plate is if the hardware was originaly black and the former owner swapped it for chrome all but the plate. Most likely tho its supposed to be chrome and the oroginal plate was lost and replaced with a black one. Or the thing is a parts mutt?
Is the trem a lo profile type or is it like a floyd but licensed. Like the JT590?
Is it satin chrome or polished chrome? what color is the body? and is there a flame maple top on it? Although it does sound like a KE3.

              ok

              Final rundown i think

              All polished chrome
              Non Reverse head
              Non Reverse sharkies
              Serial plate with only numbers
              Duncan Designed Pickups
              3 position selector
              1 volume
Jackson Logo on HS with Reserved logo (r with circle)
              All wiring looks original
              Floyd Liscensed trem
No stamp in neck pocket or on neck base or plate
Strange s looks like it was done in oil marker on neck pocket that also transferred lightly to the neck base
2 piece neck with failry heavy birdseye non bound very smooth frets
Damn fine shape no chips a few small dings

Im most likely goin with ke3 and it only cost me 119 seemed like a good deal

BTW the "R" in the circle stands for Registered as in trademark. IIRC

Hen why are you guessing it's a MIJ KE3? Serial indicates MII. I think we need pics, especially of the trem. If it's a JT500 then it's a KX10D. Right?

Because I'm too lazy to really go check, heh. After doing so, I think you're right, Ron. KX10D. And 2000 would be my guess too.

                              OK so a question?

What is the difference in parts from a KX10D and a KE3..I obviously understand the build quality here. But the axe I have here has a jt580 trem. Sharkies same duncan designed electronics as the KE3's that I see on the bay so appearancewise How would I tell the 2 of them apart other than the serial plate? Because it seems to me that the 2 axes would be Identical according to RacerX.

Did the kx10d come with Duncan Designed? If this is a KX10D its gonne become a parts guitar...If its a ke3 maybe ebay or a custom project for me?

Are you sure? Because IIRC, no MII guitars had the 580...most India axes w/ trem were the JT500. If it IS a 580, then the neck plate has been replaced for some reason.

                                How about some pics????????????
