Hi all new to board here,my name is fozzie(yes thats my real name)Was looking to post but did not have a story to tell but last night while going to sam ash to get some strings I ran across a guy in the parking lot who was trying to sell a guitar that sam ash wouldnt take for much credit.I asked him what he had he said an old charvel.when he open the case(grey chainsaw at that) I saw CAR model 2 with a Jt tremelo and an EMG 81 in the bridge.guitar looks new except th tip of the headstock got mashed.I asked him how much an he said 100.00.I said all I had was 60.00 so he took the money gave me the guitar and off I went.funny always heard these kind of storys but never had it hapen to me.

that's what I was wondering - how little were SA offering that he would accept $60 in the carpark when he wanted $100?

I sometimes wonder if it would be worth my while to hangout outside guitar & pawn shop trade-in counters, find out how much the guitar/pawn shop is offering & offer the tradee somewhere between what the shop tried to lowball them and fair market value. That way, I get the guitar for less, and the dude offloading it gets much more than the shop was prepared to pay.
                  Hail yesterday

That is a good story. Almost like the Penthouse Letters thing: "I never thought it would happen to me until one day..."

Welcome to the board. Can't wait for pics. I love Model series Charvels.

I could hang in front of guitar stores, if I had the time (and beer to drink), but most Pawn shops are in areas of town where I'm a bit leery to hang for fear of becoming a statistic!

                            Welcome!

You literally stole it for that price. I'm just wondering was it stolen in the first place. No offence but that whole scene sounds a bit suspicious.
