A seven string SLSMG would be cool, though I don't really see that happening.

Indeed, we need an import 7 string soloist w. ebony board - with a standard headstock preferably altough the 4+3 ain't that bad.

COW's are cool but they don't have some nice features (i.e. binding , neck through if it's possible)

Get the binding on the SL3 also please.

oh, also a good headstock binding on import models like americans...please...
a binding just under the headstock (dead point) is unnecessary i think....

i was under the impression they might actually put binding on every pro or higher series neck and headstock when we were alll discussing namm 2006, but despite the spec shown on the main site, it didn't actually happen. it's the one reason i never bought a ke3.

Can someone explain what "binding" is?? I owned a 2005 SL3 and now a 2006 Sl3. What am I missing???

Do you mean the white trim around the frettboard and headstock?? Or is it a technic with the way it's attached into the body?? I'm confused

you are correct sir the trim around the neck. The neck thrus used to have it and the high end bolt ons still do. Its one of the things they took away because of the Professional "PROS" were hurting US select sales.

It's more than just trim though. The binding hides the fret tang ends, giving the neck a smoother feel.

Yes. It makes seem to play nicer for me. As for new stuff, besides the RR24, no new models. Though I know of a few new Region-specific Import Special runs.

+2 All of my guitars have binding on the neck for that just reason, no tang ends, smoother feel That been said, I would get an "old school" look maple fretboard guitar just for that look of that era, like an old school Jackson or Charvel strat type, but hopefully the tangs will be filed down right. Jack.
