  • RR3 vs RR5 vs Bond

which one should I go for? I love Neck Thrus, and I love Floyd's, but I don't wanna cut a giant hole through the guitar to put a floyd into the RR5 and I dont have the cash for a RR1 or a custom shop, so I am torn.

Either way, I wanna get Trans Red or Black...If I get the Bond, It will probably have Red Bevels.

I'M SO CONFUSED! Is the neck thru w/o the floyd worth the higher price? And if I do go Neck Thru, Bond or RR5?

think which one you'd want to sell faster, then don't get that one

So, if you aren't willing to Floyd the RR5 (I wouldn't either), it's do you prefer the Floyd (RR3, or the neck through, RR5 or Bond?). I prefer the Floyd. But, if you can swing a Bond or RR5, you can swing a used RR1. Go for that, JMO.

Personally, I don't like to buy used gear, and since I'm 16, hopefully there'll be plenty of time to get a USA made sometime later in my life.

I think the Bond will be the most worth it and also, idk how long it will be in production for, so I should jump on it.

I'm a Floyd guy too but if I had to buy a st, it would be the Bond w/red bevels. I like its options and looks better then the RR5. jmo

There's nothing wrong with buying used guitar, especially if you're buying high quality stuff like RR1. You wouldn't notice any difference between, let's say used 96 RR1 and 2006 RR1.

LOL, in some cases that's true......but I bought my first USA Jackson when I was 16 back in 1986. I still have it and would NEVER give it up.

It was $1400 brand new, and I worked my ass off for a year in a bowling alley (probably the grossest job ever, cleaning the place at 5am before school 4 days a week) to come up with the cash for that, so let's not jump to conclusions. ;-)

Trendkill - I know you don't buy used gear, but, I'd seriously rethink that and check out the Rhoads Pro. These were on par with the RR1, had a great trem, ebony, MOP and would most likely come cheaper than an RR5 or a Bond. It really won't cost you to check one out even if you have to buy one, because it's an EASY resell if you don't like it. Just food for thought.

Dude, I didn't think you did. I was just rememberring what people said to me when I showed up at practice with such a sweet axe. I even tried to help my bass player out sharing the job in the mornings with him so he could make some cash....he lasted 2 days. I made on average 10-20 dollars a day depending on how bad the place was in the morning.

Not rich, not poor... I just work my ass off. When I want to buy a new guitar, I do nothing but work for it for a while doing every little $5 job possible... ya know? its just that good old American determination

but ya, I'm looking into a new job to try to moce things a bit quicker...

Hey, what's goin' on man. Since you prefer the tremelo, go for the Bonds if you like one pickup rather than two. Otherwise, do what Voice X3 mentioned and seriously get yourself a Rhoads Pro. Has the made in USA features, the quality is on par and it has the tremelo.

                              Check this out:

Also, might want to seriously consider the new 2007 RR Pro with 24 frets:
