Well, in terms of specs the DK2T would indeed be right up your alley. Maybe shoot one of our forum dealers a mail if there's no used one to be found.

A RR1T would be a whole different league though...

Yeah, I'm debating coughing up the extra dough to go for the USA, but I have some other stuff I should throw that cash towards.

NIL - the Deth forums are getting really messy. Everybody swings from Vince's nuts over there, and he's a maniac. I don't know how much more of the Musicians forum I can take. And yes, hopefully it'll look ok on Dave live haha

Sinistas, if I were on the lookout for an import, fixed bridge Jackson, I'd look for a DKMGT. They are all over the bay for around $399 new.

Wait..., you said sharkies! D'oh! That's a shame, 'cause the DKMGT has killer features for the money. It has mini-sharkies, though. Kinda ESP'ish

If you're set on a fixed bridge the DK2T is a great guitar for the $$. I recently bought one from one of the JCF sponsers. Sustain, fretwork, and overall playability and fit and finish were great. My only complaint is I'm not fond of the JB in the bridge, but that is totally a matter of taste and an easy upgrade down the road. You may like it. I found the Jazz in the neck position to be great for cleans and jazzy sounds. Call the JCF dealers for a price, they can usually do you a better deal than their listed prices. I've dealt with Matt's and Online Stagegear and they're both top notch people to deal with.

Do y'all think it would be worth my time to look into just blocking the trem instead of looking for a fixed-bridge guitar?

Or you could throw a tremol-no at it.

My vote would be for the D?MGT. Personally I'd pick the K, 'cause I prefer the pirahnas to the "smurf hat."

Totally off-topic, but why "smurf hat?" It's not shaped anything like it... plus, Smurfs are friggin' metal!

They had this GORGEOUS USA Fusion at a local GC last year. It was over my budget though :/

I wouldn't want to deal with a Floyd, even if it is blocked; mainly because I don't like the low profile bridge. It's not as comfortable for my picking hand as a tune-o-matic bridge.

If you liked the profile on your Cali that might not be a problem for you.

if you can find a dk2t or dkmgt.. non-floyded imports tend to be cheaper than their floyded equivilents. depends on how patient you are.

Went to GC last night to try something out, and all they had for Jacksons were an RR3 and a JS30RR. Gah. They guided me towards Ibanez, but I didn't like the necks. I also tried a Strat with an EMG 81 in the bridge and SAs for the singles. Great, awesome clean and lead tones. Craptastic rhythm tone.

                              *sigh*
