Actually, he didn't steer me towards Gibson, quite surprisingly. And I asked about the Strat because of of the pickup arrangement.Dreaded Silence - Boston Melancholic Metal

What are you thinking about buying Sinistas? Any updates on your GAS !
What do you think about the pre 2006 KVX10 ? They're pretty cool stringthru V's. This year they came out with tremelo instead. Would be awesome if Jackson offered some KV2's with stringthru and Kahler options, like a USA Select option or something.Last edited by caesar81; 01-25-2007, 12:53 AM.

If it goes down like it should, I'm snagging an SLSMG w/Dimarzio X2N in the bridge for $400. Can't beat that price! hahaDreaded Silence - Boston Melancholic Metal

NIL - the Deth forums are getting really messy. Everybody swings from Vince's nuts over there, and he's a maniac. I don't know how much more of the Musicians forum I can take. And yes, hopefully it'll look ok on Dave live haha
He always threatens someone,when they don't agree with him.That's just stupid.I wish my hair-color was EDS :/

If that SLSMG deal doesn't go through, I can recommend looking for a Charvel 750XL or Jackson Archtop Pro. Both are set-neck (sculpted like neck-through), and exist as both fixed bridge and double locking trem (JT-590). The 750XL has rosewood fretboard, while the AT Pro has ebony. Other than that, they share the following features:
* Dual hums
* Maple arch top
* Mahogany body
* Maple neck
* Short scale
* Reverse MOP fins
* Binding

Not sure how I missed this thread earlier, but I'll throw in my opinion. I bought a DK2M last year, as soon as they became available. I have owned USA and `90s Pro-series Jacksons, and it is equal to the best among them in terms of playability and workmanship. No fret issues, no cosmetic flaws, no electronics glitches. If the other imports are on the same level, I don't see how you could make a bad decision with any of them.
Sorry to hear about your Hamer's untimely demise. I still have my USA Californian Elite, and I'm taking it with me to the grave.

I thought I had responded, but apparently not.
Yeah, the Cali is in rough shape. Floyd & Pickups are rusted, fretboard's coming off (as is the binding). I'm not even sure how bad the neck is overall. It sucks, that guitar was the best $200 I ever spent.
I've played the SLSMG before and I loved the feel, but not the sound. I'm hoping the X2N instead of the HZ will help that out. We'll seeDreaded Silence - Boston Melancholic Metal
