  • found something out about my DX10D...

i thought it was a 2006 model...come to find out i have a 2005. i always had this problem with the neck shifting ever so slightly (nothing huge...but i could tell) and i never had a tuning problem with it so i didnt worry too much. took it apart a minute ago and saw that there were three short screws and one long...good thing i had a long screw that was nearly identical laying around! so i replaced that, but looked at the neck pocket to see when my guitar was actually made.

12-24-2005, and the neck was made on 1-28-2005. LOL funny how that works out! so maybe it actually IS a 2006 model, if they do guitars the way they do cars and they start making the new models a little bit before the next year, and since everything on my guitar is the same as a new 2006 model basically.

and i know for certain that i have an Alder bodied DX10 just thought id share that i found that a worker at the factory put the wrong screw in my guitar

well, its not like it really affected playability. i just thought it was funny. shit happens in mass production scenarios and it was a mistake, but not one that will turn me off to purchasing another Jackson (and most other people wouldnt be bothered by it either).

next guitar on my list? RR24

:ROTF: Thats pretty funny Jason! I cant believe that anything worse didnt go wrong with the neck. Oh yeah, it is a b-stock guitar anyway. Thats why it wasnt sold as an A-stock. But, so far its been the bridge post and a wrong screw in the neck pocket. Not severe problems to deal with.

exactly...scratch and dent. i knew what to watch out for when i got it, and for the price i got it at it was a steal as it is!

now if the other one i got before hadnt had its headstock broken off by UPS that would have been an even better deal

OK so it's a B-Stock... maybe because of the short screw... So how the heck did they know it was a short screw without taking it apart and then why on earth didn't they just put the right one in :ROTF: :ROTF: :ROTF:
