          Here's an early one I put together that went to Norway;

          Unfortunately I don't have any pics of it completed.

                  I've got a bone to pick with Henrik's description of the Rhoads STD in that article. The back plate on those guitars was indeed metal (just like the Pro). Also the inlays are in fact MOP and not plastic - yes even though they're just dots.

                  I can't wait to see how the Pro compares to the Std when it finally arives.

                      I know a guy with a Rhoads STD, which he bought new in Europe, 10 or so years ago. It's a late ´95 and it came with a plastic back plate. Maybe we Euros got served plastic! Or maybe Jackson just changed specs along the way. Hmm...

                      Thanks, JM! That's a mistake by me. I even stated is was MOP on the Proconfusion page. Too much text for me to handle

                        Thanks for linking, Ron.

                        Wrt. Rhoads STD and EX head stock logo: does anyone know if they used MOP or white plastic? I'm pretty sure they use plain white plastic, but....

                          Yeah, mine's definitely metal. I expected it to be plastic as well. I wonder whether there's just a bit of variation through the years (like the Reflex pickups thing)?

                          Thanks for the offer! And please be aware that your web page has been invaluable for evaluating guitars and learning Jackson history. I have to wait a while for the Pro to show up but I'll be in touch. I also have an RR1 so I can do a comparison between the RR1 > RR Pro > RR Std. Should be interesting.

                            The STD is just white plastic. No MOP.

                              Depending on the outcome of this () this could be very interesting. It has potential.

                              You know, I never expected my rather basic and quick Rhoads comparison on the site would turn out to be so popular as it has. But if you could see my feedback folder on it + the other Rhoads info

                              Jackson and Charvel knowledge here is considered a basic proficiency, but outside the JCF framework, our knowledge is considered almost as coming from another planet and very, very much appreciated. I see a growing interest in Jackson guitars. Honestly!
