Congrats, Wal! That's a sweet combo of RRs there, my favorite colors for both models. That's right, you bought a white YJM back around November when I got mine. I remember us talking about having similiar tastes (I used to have a Single Recto too). Weird.......
You know that theory that everyone has a twin somewhere in the world (doppleganger), maybe you're my gear twinUnleash the fury.....Texas style!

Thanks all!
The RR24 is a superb guitar. Very similar, playing wise, to the Bonds (although I'm not all that sensitive when it comes to neck shape). The RR24 is a bit more weighty & the EMGs (and weight?) make it brighter & cleaner. The Iommi on the Bonds is a bit more "ballsy" - gritty, dirty & bassy. There's no problem getting to the dusty end of the neck on either.
I'm playing through an old JCM800 as the Mesa Single needs some TLC - it keeps popping & coughing, so I guess new valves may be in order. Volume limitations mean using a THD Hotplate & serious reduction in both Master & Pre-amp volumes. I'm using a Line 6 DM for dirt, although have the stomp box model that it's currently emulating (but that's been set for the YJM running through the Mesa mentioned above). Sounds are a bit trebly & nasal (I like the nasal sound - the stomp box is a Metal Zone & they usually sound like this, I gather) - but that may be because the amp isn't running as hard as it wants to. It's bloody loud & I have neighbours! And I'm shy. I'm looking forward to getting the Mesa rectified (geddit?) so that I can play the RR24 through it - the Bonds sounds awesome, so I'm guessing the RR will too. Playing both at volume is a great foot stompin', head-bangin' experience (I'm usually quite reserved) - great "metal" guitars.
Jwoods - hi "gear-twin"! You don't drink whisky & have a motorbike in your driveway, do you?Wal - Good from far, but far from good

Vodka will do! Cheers
ZRX's are nice - muscular & "old school". Shame you had to sell it. I'm considering selling mine as it hasn't done much for a while. I've got a ZX6R - got to get it roadworthy again though. Sadly, I just spent the repair/tyre/MOT (roadworthiness test) money on a guitar. On the other hand, happily I just spent the repair/tyre/MOT money on a guitar!Wal - Good from far, but far from good

SlasZ - I'm getting used to it - the Soloist (SL2H) has the same vol. knob position & I found it did get in the way at first. Playing on the higher frets isn't a problem, it's miles away from the end of the neck! It was picking on the higher strings when my little finger contacts the knob & alters the volume a little. I prefer the knob position on the Bonds Rhoads - well out of the way on the lower wing.Wal - Good from far, but far from good
