I guess I should have put "Professional" in my post. I had not realized that the early 90s "Pro" line was something different.

The Professional Pros are up there with USA quality.
The biggest differences with the basic professionals and the USA selects are rosewood to ebony (to me this is a preference anyway) and USAs have quatersawn necks.
Find the ones with the 590 trem( schaller made) and upgrade the pickups you have a great guitar for a fraction of USA price
Example my 93 xl dinky professional
          schaller trem
upgraded pups Seymour Duncan Screamin Demon(bridge)/ tom anderson neck
          MOP sharktooth inlays
          $127 on ebay
AM I going to worry about not having a qs and ebony fretboard neck for the $800 difference in used guitar prices? Nope.

How so Ron? This thread was about Professionals, not "PRO"s.
The "PRO"s were all ebony boards, the rest of the professional series are rosewood, but still have highend features.
In 1993 take the soloist there was the student, XL and the Pro all say professional on the headstock.

                  PROs ARE Professionals

                  Not all Professionals are PROs

it's probably poor wording....like that other guy....

Thanks, Hen; I meant the 2 yokels above me!

The 2 quotes in Post #20 are clear as mud!

Ron, I guess your the hoser to wash off the mud
Next time I will not say PRO pros. I will spell professional all the way out.
The two guys you picked Ron were the least confusing. As always the rest of you guys went strait for the PROS and didn't even discuss the rest of the Professional line.

I have played a few of the new Professionals and they were nice guitars . I really liked the SLSMG very cool . But the others just do not compare to the MOP logo 90 PROs IMO . Maybe the new Mark Morton Sig , the new RR24 and OFR SL3 do but have not been able to play one yet.

The original Jackson Professional line is superior to any that came after. If your Pro has an ebony fingerboard & mop Jackson logo inlay it's the best kind. Most of the wankers who don't have those and wish they did, always are quick to point out that their late model Pro is on par. WRONG. Not an opinion folks, just not. Face it, by about '93 or so, the best were canned.
