Maybe the fact they won't build a non-recessed saved you a lot of €s.

But euros don't make you happy, they just burn holes into pockets... guitars make happy!
And if he has to go to the USA custom shop to get his dream guitar, that would instead cost ALOT more euros.

I got a definite answer that I can't get a non-recessed trem on my RR. They stopped doing them some time ago .

FWIW, there's no sign of my guitar yet either. Delayed 'till mid-July my ass!

I was told the custom shop Jackson Stars takes 4-5 months to be made...Shadowcat got his in exactly 3 months. The site says 3-4 months. Seems like they are getting very popular.....

To be honest, I haven't received many real details about the delay. I was expecting the guitar in June, as that was the estimate they gave me; I paid right at the end of February. I was having second thoughts about requesting sunburst edges, so I wrote to them in early June. In reponse to that e-mail, I got this on the 19th of June:
"According to the maker, the your guitar will be available until mid-July. And the body is finished aleady...I am very sorry such inconvenience.
Anyway, I will inform you as soon as your guitar is available. Thank you for your patience for now."
I wrote to them again last week, just to let them I was off e-mail from the 14th and 21st of July (from 37 degrees Celcius in Tuscanny this morning back to 14 degrees in Dublin this afternoon... what a cold blow that was!). Checking my mail today, this had arrived on the 14th:
"Anyway I will inform you as soon as we receive the guitar by e-mail."
Shame you can't actually send guitars by e-mail, eh?
I suspect that the guys in Ishibashi don't really know what's causing the delays, in the same way that the US dealers appear to be largely in the dark with regards US CS delays. Maybe the factory is too busy trying to cope with the demand for RR24s?!
I'll report back when I hear anything, but hopefully there'll be plenty of Ishibashi Jackson Star porn from the other guys soon.
Sounds like your guitar is dead as a Dodo either way. Did you get a quote from Ran? They seem to do anything and everything.

BTW, how did you guys pay for yours? I know how the bank wire transfers goes, but they charge another 3000yen for it and my bank will also charge something...
What about paying with a credit card? I didn't really understand what he told me...you have to go through their site and enter the credit card info there?

Originally posted by Nazgul View PostNah, I'll order it with a recessed tremolo anyway. I don't like Rans that much, something about their RR shape seems "off" to me. I'm sending the money on the end of this week.

You fill in the details on their secure web-form and then send them seperately an e-mail with the details they requested (shipping info., e-mail, phone number & expiry date, IIRC). A day after I sent the e-mail, I received an e-mail with this in it:
"We received your credit card information. Thank you for your effort so far."
It took a while for the charge to appear on my card, but I've had that experience before with overseas purchases. If you have any trouble, let me know. I can send you a copy of the e-mails I exchanged with them. Gotta run... pint(s) of Guinness await.
