Oh fuck, it's bust.... Just put the forward strap button in front of the neckplate or thru the neckplate itself.

    It's not a QA thing, it's a design flop.

No worries dude. I did some digging on it after seeing your post and saw a bunch of people saying the same thing. I'll find someone to drill a hole thru the neckplate on this. Come to think of it, on my neckthru KV, the strap button is located right where a neckplate would be, so it makes total sense! Thanks for the tip!!

Yeah, I was wondering if it had the same prob as the RX10D. Remedied my son's by drilling a hole between the top 2 neckplate screws. A leather strap didn't hurt either. So, since J/C is making these with basswood now I'm gonna guess that the neck-dive issue is potentially worse than with the previous alder bodies?
My future band shall be known as "One Samich Short Of A Picnic"!

I know this is an older thread but figured I'd update it... I took the neckplate off, drilled a hole through it in the middle just under the top two screws (similar to where a neckthru model would be), and put the strap button up there.

Balance problem = history. The guitar is perfectly balanced now. Thanks again for the tips guys! Much appreciated!

So much good info in these forums. It's cool how much guitar we can get for <$500 these days. Glad to hear you solved your balance problems.

That top is nice. My DK2 is wanting me to get a pointy guitar and I've always leaned more towards a Rhoads... but damn the KV's are growing on me fast...
