  • Which Floyd on a 1990 Soloist Pro?

    Hello people,

I picked up on a 1990 Soloist Pro a few months ago, and I'd like to replace the bridge, but I don't know which Schaller it is. I've heard JT590 a lot, also that an OFR will retro-fit with no problems.

Can someone recommend where I could locate a new JT590? Or is the OFR the better way to go?

It is in fact the Schaller JT590 that came on your Soloist Pro. The Schaller is every bit as good as the OFR. I would not change it. Welcome to the JCF.

    Oh, by the way:

      Right!
      Here you are:

That large orange glop below the pickups is just flash glare.
I picked this guitar from a buddy of mine for $400.00.
The reason I'm considering replacing the bridge, is one of the saddles split the other day as I was re-stringing it. The Allparts saddle wasn't exactly the same, and now my G string is riding a little higher (that just doesn't sound right), and a few of the "forward" holes where you lock the saddles down to set the intonation have become stripped, I've just got them locked down using the back holes. That's not as big a problem as the busted saddle...but it's an issue.

Where can I get an exact replacement saddle for a 590?

Wow! You most certainly did steal that for $400.00! I have a 1990 Pearl White that is known around the boards as Ms. Pearl.

As far as replacement for the saddle, I'm not sure. Sorry that I'm of no help there.

S'ok -- the Allparts part is holding it's own...for now. At some point it will will have to be replaced with the right piece.
I was definitely stoked with getting the guitar. It plays like a million, and the tone is incredible.

An original Floyd Rose saddle is the same as those trems are made by Schaller. Just make sure you get the right height saddle.

Here is a good place to get them.

If you wanted to replace the whole trem, A Schaller Floyd would be a direct replacement. An OFR would not fit in the trem route. The saddle bolts would stick out past the route.

                  GREAT SCORE!
