Since buying my DK2M, I've noticed next to fuck all blue in the finish, but plenty of purple around the edges, just by looking at it with the bedroom light on. The camera phone used when direct sunlight shines through my window makes the green area look blue, and the purple is almost non-existent. Should the finish on every DK2M (or any import for that matter) differ between guitars of the same model? Or are different levels of light screwing with my vision?

I did take pix of it under the bedroom light, but it looked so dark you couldn't make out any colour. But just looking at it under the same light, it looks 3/4 green and the rest purple.Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

Any light other than sunlight can be tricky in regards to what you see color wise. The reason is that most light bulbs only put out certain colors of the spectrum, not every color. This causes an imbalance in what you see as the color you see is affected by the spectral output of that particular light.
What you see in the sunlight on a clear day (at high noon is best!) is what it is. Direct sunlight has full spectral loading, leading to a more perfect white light.
Get out of the basement!
Oh, I notice that you are in the UK. Well, if you want to see what color it is in sunlight, move to another country...Last edited by DrDoug; 08-13-2007, 05:12 PM.

It varies from guitar to guitar. A lot of the older USA models were even darker and had more purple. The import models seem to be lighter and sometimes the purple is closer to pink or barely has any purple at all.I feel my soul go cold... only the dead are smiling.
