Close. It's a Seagull. In fact the Seagull and the Eagle (and the Seagull II for that matter) share the same lower horn.

You're good. Alas, old Eric ("Slowhand") was handed the guitar while he was backstage and someone snapped a pic. The pic somehow ended up in an advert...

BCR were forced to stop using the advert for obvious reasons, but the myth lives on even after all these years.

The Floyd Rose logo on the Ping is etched. The logo on German-made "real" Floyd is stamped. I have had Pings on my guitars and was not impressed by the knife edges. Nothing like the "real" Floyd!

hmmm so Ping's are of lesser quality I gather?

I have never heard of them or seen them before until now. I just got an CS BC Rich Virgin that has a black Ping on it. I dont really use my Floyd's anyways so I guess it's a mute point. ( unless it rusts super fast or something)

The jury is still out on the "quality" of the pings. For only being $20 less than an Original Floyd, it better kick ass. They are going for like $139 for the chrome one. Check the links posted earlier. Seems everyone bagging on them has never actually owned or used one. Would I buy one, probably not simply because of the price point. You may as well buy the OFR.

I noticed the note that says "Thse have the flat head post to simulate the...". Are they talking about using flat head screwdriver as opposed to the allen wrench?

I've noticed that photos of recent ESP M-II show a flat head screwdriver being neccesary to change the height of the floyd. Is that another sign of a Ping?

heres a picture of the Ping on my Virgin.

it does have the flat screwdriver posts and the most obvious give away is the logo on the right side.

Yes, all pings have that logo next to the trem ferrule............OFRs don't.

And the "Licensed Under Floyd Rose Patents" might be a giveaway. Anyway, do you like the trem? Does it seem cheap or would you say it's pretty solid?

Thanks for the picture Mikernaut. I hadn't noticed the "Licensed under Floyd Rose patents" part before. That does make it pretty obvious.
