Just reporting that my first inquiry turned up nothing.

I asked a chap at Ishibashi about what's made at the Chushin Gakki factory and if, in particular, B.C. Rich and Caparison guitars were. Like Manuel in Fawlty Towers, he effectively said "I know nothing".

Now for the next avenue of attack...

Who is this RacerX of which you speak?

If ever there was a time for light-shedding, now is it. Well, sometime soon, at least. Show us your awsome dudeness qualities; the rest are not in question.

For one thing, it'll save me from having to call in a favour from an associate in Tokyo!

Wow, that's quite a selection you have there. Are they all from El Pres's business card?

I think I'll have the e-mail address first, please. I take it that it doesn't correspond to an Internet domain with a website for the factory? One that has a FAQ. In English.

            Didn't think so.

I'll ponder overnight the e-mail's content. Thanks Import Jackson aficionado.

What exactly are Jackson Stars guitars?

                > I've always heard a story that Gakki is a manufacturing plant the size of Lockheed/Martin or some shit, and supposedly 60% of ALL the bolt-on guitars made in the whole world are made there,Ibanez,Fender, and all. My question is this. Can you get a single-hum Dinky Reverse from them for less than 3k? Tommy D.

                  Allright, it's tinfoil hat time.

"Gakki" means "musical instrument", and there probably are a crapload of different manufacturers having that word in their names.
