  • Unknown Jackson model. Please help ^^

    Hi everybody
I've got a little problem ! I bought a Jackson in 2002, it was a new one (in store). The only problem is that there is no model type written on the pack.

I only got the serial number written on the metal plate :
    99070131

Also there is a sticker behind the neck "made in india".

There is only 2 humbuckers, no-named, and a floyd rose "licensed under Floyd -Rose patents".

    Diapason is 25"1/2.

    There are 24 frets.

    Here comes the photos :

Thank you for your help ! I've search every forum I could, I've searched for weeks on the net, but still no result...

It looks alot like a dr5 from the mid 90's but they had chrome hardware and direct mount pickups. It also looks like a js30 but the inlays are wrong.

Hummm...Sorry but what is a "direct mounted pickup" ? I'm just a noob xD What is more i bought this guitar approximatly 350€ (let's say 400/450$) so I don't think it's a great model.

And also : i've change the pots buttons ^^ The originals one was all black.

Direct mount there are no pickup rings. The humbucker is attached like a single coil
here are the ones I think it is close too:

            on the right

            bottom right

The serial is indian and might indicate 1999 as production year (if my hypothesis is correct). However, there is no match to this guitar in either the 1998, 1999 or 2000 catalogues (unless i missed something).

I'm guessing it's either a parts mutt (unlikely, since OP states he bought it new), or a model for a foreign market or from a special limited edition run.

What Sunbane said. Either way, it's a bottom line model and not worth spending money on.

Play it. Then play it again. Then play it some more. Repeat until it falls apart

That is a strange phrase, isn't it? What are the living daylights? English is so weird.

By the context of which it is used in, it sounds like "the living daylights" is another (prettier) word for "shit".

                              lol...I'll sleep smartier tonight xD
Anyway i'm not a very good player and this guitar is very good for me. I've installed Gibson's 496R and 500T on it and it sounds good. For 100$ it was a good deal i thought.

                              When i'm reacher i'll buy a real one...And a real Jackson ! I prefer the design

But for the moment i'm just working my music theory...And think about my unknown Jackson...Maybe one day i'll know...Who knows ?
