  • Question about this: Limited Edition Jackson KE-3 Kelly in Camoflauge

I found it used and seller states this: Patterned after the Christian Olde-Wolbers (Fear Factory) signature model. This guitar was made for 1 year and limited to approximately 100 pieces.
It has a real light RW board w/Sharkfins,The headstock is painted camo too. Looks like 22 frets with chrome HDWR.(says real floyd Rose?)Comes with HS case, the seller is asking $450.00.
If anyone could give me any info on it and value please post some helpful info, not that keen on it. . but may want to add to my collection.
    Thanx in advance.

All i can say is that my local Bizarre Guitar has one for $729.00 new...
so i would think $450 is a great price if its in great condition?
I played the new one, and it was nice. Not USA Soloist nice...
but great neck, and was well balanced. I would snap this used
up, ive got a "jones" for a kelly now too!

Well, I don't think the COW was the first Jackson to have that camo pattern, but I do remember seeing the camo Kelly somewhere. I personally don't care for the desert camo with rosewood, but if you scored a DK2M neck for it . . .

Here's a pic that someone on here posted awhile ago. Worst camo paintjob ever!

Yeah, like I said not keen on it. Id love to have a Kelly someday, but my friend sent me the linky so I thought id check with you guys first. I could get it for $400 with case, but rather put the $400 towards a used Soloist in Trans Blue (OMG I love them to death) and have to have one.
Anywho thanx for the replys, just got home from work and couldnt wait to read them.
Ill say . . . No on this one.Its ugly and the RW board looks almost maple it so light.

Aren't Kellys always 24 frets? I don't remember a relatively newer Kelly being less than 24.

That's...well...that's not a very appealing paintscheme.

It is a 24 fret neck. The biggest problem with the paint is that it photographs like crap. I would agree the color scheme leaves a little to be desired; probably should have been done in OD green vs. the desert camo. That said, It is darker than the pics suggest. I actually prefer it to the cookie cutter blue and red models. Those are everywhere.
"... and is there anyone out there who can sing music beyond either the Dead/Phish/jam band of the week

                  or

obscure B-side GreatWhiteLionSnake demos recorded in the basement of some guy who was the girlfriend's second cousin's in-law's best man?

I swear to God, if we audition another American Idol wannabee or have another no show, I'll turn postal. I'm a donkey on the frickin' edge."
