  • Sl-j1

Hello, everybody. I have bought a Jackson stars SL-j1 from Japan 3 months ago. But, Unfortunately, i am encountering some serious problem. The MOP inlay of my guitar cracked a little bit after i have tuned my truss rod.......crying......i wonder if my act cause the crack on the inlay. I hope you guys can give me some advice and details the problem on my axe. Thanks mate.

How far did you turn the truss rod? I've never heard of a truss rod adjustment causing inlay cracks, but I'm also assuming that you didn't crank on it. How many inlays were affected, just one? Is the neck bowed?

If it's only been 3 months, the guitar should still be under warranty.

What part of the world do you live in? And what shop did you buy your guitar from?

If I were to guess, I'd say

        -Italy
-one of the shops that ships JacksonStars out of Japan

          RacerX, your guess was wrong.

Raphael, as discussed, show the pics to the shop...see if they can accept repair work under warranty.

hey, ALex. It is me. the guy talked to you last night. I have crack on the 7th fret only. I have also sent the pic to the Ishibashi where i the the guitar from. They said they cannnot tell anything on whether it can be fixed or under warranty unless thye check the real thing. But, i live in Hong Kong, I might not be available to travel all the time.... The Ishibashi guy told me to ship the guitar back to them , but i think it will be a rip off on the shipping cost....

Just bleed some thin super glue in the crack shoot a little accelerator on it let it dry just takes a second then scrape smooth with a razor blade.
Thats an easy fix really.I wouldn't be too upset you can barely notice it.
I don't think adjusting the truss rod had anything to do with it cracking.I guess if you really cranked on it it could happen.

Thats not a serious issue at all.I would do like I said and I'd bet you could never tell it was cracked.
