  • Need some help ID'ing a guitar

    here is the serial 101516

all i know is that it is a Dinky, body only. Could someone help me out here?

It's impossible to tell exactly what it is from just the serial. Plus, that doesn't look like a normal Jackson serial. You could put up some pics to assist the identification though.

Pic's of the body would help then we could see what trem route it has pickup confige switches etc....

Just the serial number ona presumably an import isnt going to help much, not too mention that doesent sound entirely right...

Try to get the serial number, if you can that would help

"Please note that the Jackson import models cannot be identified solely by a serial number. While it is possible to determine whether it is a neck-thru or a bolt-on, please supply PICS and information such as pickup configuration, knob configuration, tremolo, and neck construction."

From the First post I guess it's a bolt on as it's just the body I think that's what he said.

              But pics of the
Trem route, pickup config or if its got a pickguard with the pickguard, the route may be decieving...

those are the pics he gave me, ill see if he has any with a full shot.

from what you see in the pics though, would it be worth buying and then buying a neck for it?

OK I just IDed the body: 1996 Jackson PS-1 (Performer). I think the color is Black Cherry.

The neck (which you told me is not included) is most likely from a PS-4.

I would steer clear of that one if I were you. Missing the bridge humbucker, tremolo is going to need a good cleanup at a minimum, and then there's the suspect wiring.

For the money, especially the opening bid, this would be a great Jackson/Charvel. http://cgi.ebay.com/Charvel-80s-Mode...QQcmdZViewItem

The Model series guitars can be scored a little cheaper, you just have to be patient and bide you time though. Any of the Model series Charvels or the Professional series Jacksons are very good guitars. If you're looking for something with a pick guard Charvel Model 3's show up on eBay pretty danged often.

Looks like a ps4 neck.... ps4's had ugly strat pickgurads like this one, but they were h/s/h if i remember.
