No. I had one of the limited Black and Yellow ones. VERY good guitar, but it is not as nice as my RR1. Sold mine on eBay after a couple of weeks.

Besides the lack of a neck pup, could you please elaborate alittle more on "No,it is not as nice"?? (and PLEASE don't say MOP inlays!)

This is my main guitar, I wouldnt trade it for anything. If you are such a pussy that you really need a neck pickup, get a soloist. Real guitarists dont need variations on every thing. Just plug in and play, if you cant sweep pick on your bridge pickup then your sloppy, thats the biggest complaint I've read about, everyone seems to be complaining that they cannont sweep pick on this guitar, but thats because their sloppy, if you use the bridge pickup all the time, it picks up your pick attack more than a neck pickup, and you will hear every detail. I know people are gunna bitch me out for saying this, but if you cant handle no neckpickup, then either start practising or continue being sloppy on a KV2 or somthing. I learned that if your tone is lack luster, turn down your gain on your amp, turn up your volume, and slow down your playing.

I like mine. I like that it has one pickup and one knob. If i needed a neck pickup i'll put it down and pick up my strat, dk2m, slsmg or one of my Ibbies.

this is my main guitar live and i've used it in the studio a lot...i like everything really, greta playibilit, good weight, great stage look, tho i'd probably change the emg 81 for something rounded / smoother...

as for versitality, what he said down to a tee:

i'm mostly doing 80s metal on it, so its perfect really for anything rock/metal, and if i wanna do clean/ballady stuff or something a little rawer (more sleazy i guess) i'll break out the strat

                        Interesting opinion...

FWIW, I always play sweep picking on the bridge pickup (because I can't be arsed to switch pickups in the middle of a fast solo), but I like some variation in tone, for slower solos and especially for cleans. I like neck pickups way more for cleans.

Ah well, you can call me a pussy for playing clean at all, if you want.

I like the simplicity and overall use of this guitar, I don't own one ( not yet ) but have played one. The single pickup and the one volume control, it's a no nonsence guitar.

If I were to own one ( and I will ), then I'd get rid of the EMG, because I hate EMGs, and stick a Seymour Duncan Livewire in there instead, because they're like waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay better.

Yes. The KV2 tall/skinny fret wire is the only thing keeping me from buying a KV2. I'm just used to bigger fret wire like on the Soloist.

My playing sounds good clean on the bridge pickup, I do not touch my EQ on my tiny 30 watt all tube amp, all I do is switch to my clean channel from my overdrive channel, it works perfect. I hate when people need so much tone variation though, its annoying, I usually just roll down my volume while still in the overdrive channel when I have to play clean, but then again thats the advantage of all tube circuitry, the gain is not spikey and the guitar always sounds smooth and soft, even on heavy gain and hard picking I get more of a chug sound than a dimebag spike sound, just crank up the bass and let it rip.

Anyways, if you need a neckpickup, seriously just get a cheap ESP M 200 or MH 250, and switch to that, thats what I did for when I want a stratshape limitless shred piece of shit.

No thanks, I'll rather take my Jackson Stars RRs which have 24 frets AND two hums, for the same price as a new RR24.
