The best bet for the price isnt any of these. For absolute playability the guitar to get for the 500 dollar range is and ESP M 200 fm or MH 250. Though they are a standard strat shape, they are easily obtainable for under 500 bucks. They have all the features of a USA soloist 2h including neckthru construction.
I have an MH 250, and it keeps up with my RR24 great, its the perfect backup if you dont want to hurt a nice guitar. But if you want a V or somthing, dont bother with a 500 dollar bolt on. The BC rich JR V neck thru is the next one to look at. After that, neckthru KV2's on Ebay can be found for 1000 or so. Other than that, every bolt on I have ever played is almost the same tone wise, sure the neck might be a slightly different feel, but the tone of the strings does not transfer to the body properly. I am very anti bolt on. I dont own a single bolt on anymore, and never will. Neckthru or Set neck. I love my two Les Pauls as well.
BTW, The beast is disgusting looking, V for life.
