  • Madness,still Got Your Sam Ash Sl2h?

madness, do you still have your sl2h? and how is it holding up? any drawbacks to this guitar? i'm real close to buying a sam ash sl2h and i'm trying to get all the input i can before i take the plunge.

Yeah, I still have it and It's still my main player. Hmm.....drawbacks? The only drawbacks, IMO, are purely cosmetic. Obviously, I still wish it had an ebony board w/MOP inlays but, that's the only thing I would change. Very solid guitar that sounds and plays amazing. I think it's the best Jackson import currently available.

Hmm. How is that an SL2H when it's an import and it's also an archtop?

It is not, but it got the name... well...

I'd call it the new "Soloist Archtop Almost-Pro".

Unfortunately, SamAsh is the one who's calling it an SL2H:

Yeah, I'd like to know what Jackson is actually calling it.

Its Made in japan. Not USA like the other SL2's. There were quite a few threads about this.

                          EDIT:
IN this thread S-man talks about some problems with pickup pole pieces not aligning with the strings...

it might not be false anything. since sam ash is such a big company maybe jackson has some sort of agreement with sam ash to call it the sl2h. and when it comes down to it i don't care what they call it. it's an awesome looking guitar and it says jackson on the headstock.

yeah, real mop inlays would be cool ,abalone inlays would be even cooler. it amazes me how cheap these guitar companies have gotten. hell, you would think you would at least get a free hardshell case with this guitar. that's like buying an amp and paying extra for the footswitch which happens in many cases.
