  • Jackson RR Dan Spitz Professional!!

    Oh yeah!

I had to sell my Jackson Stars RR-J2SP, but got another cool axe! This is one of those early Japan-only Grover Jacksons....here's a pic from a '93 catalog:

Seems like the most expensive guitar in the whole catalog .

    Mine is a 1991.

Pickups are EMG85 in bridge and EMG81 in neck...not really liking the sound on the highest strings, but I'll try to do the 18V mod soon and see how it sounds then.

    Non-recessed floyd and reversed inlays = <3

Right on!!! Sweet! I just saw one of those (probably this one) on a Japan site used. Great score!
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

        Thanks!

Yeah, digimart.net, right? The ad is still there. The shop where it is from is really slow with updating their's site so it's still listed as available .

it would be cooler with yellow bevels or gold pinstripes. but this is a real classy piece the way it is.

Yeah..I had this planned for quite some time now and once the first Dan Spitz RR came up on Digimart, I went for it . They are pretty rare IMO.

I'm getting a Jackson Stars CS RR in few months to replace RR-J2SP's place.

Lovely guitar Nazgul. Rare as hens' teeth.

I was wondering what you'd replace your RR-J2SP with... I should have guessed it would be yet another RR. Won't be long until you have three!

It's interesting that Stars won't use a non-recessed Floyd anymore, given they obviously did in the past. Do you really prefer the non-recessed?

Yes, but the recessed are not that bad too .

I think it was. I was doing a search on a different older jackson stars and stumbled on it. very cool!

I'm still trying to decide on my next one, so many guitars so not enough money

Kickass! Dan Spitz doesn't get enough respect around here IMHO. OK so he didn't quite have Lynch chops, but...he kicked a lot of ass, and always kicked said ass using Jacksons!! OK I know this belongs in the under-rated guitarist thread....NOT!!!!! NOT!!!!!!

Yes, it was a bit over 1000eur (= 1415,41 USD according to xe.com today), but well worth it!
Guitar itself was pretty cheap, but the shipping was almost 1/3 of the guitar's price . And then the customs fees and tax in the end...
